Evidence and Research-Based Home Visitation Funding: Nurse Family Partnership and Rural/Tribal

Funding Focus

The focus of this funding is to support families in their role as their child's first and most important teacher while measurably reducing risks for child abuse and neglect. By expanding and encouraging the use of voluntary home visitation programs, we support healthy child development, enhance parenting skills, improve the quality of parent-child interactions and/or promote school readiness activities for families at risk for child abuse and neglect and poor educational outcomes. Funded programs will be expected to engage in outreach to families receiving or eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

The Council for Children & Families has identified program models that meet identified research criteria and impact protective factor outcomes. We seek to develop or expand these program models in Washington by inviting proposals to implement:

  • Nurse Family Partnership
  • Healthy Families NY
  • Home Instruction for Parents of Pre-School Youngsters (HIPPY)
  • Parents As Teachers
  • Parent-Child Home Program
  • Project SafeCare
  • Other intensive home visitation services meeting defined criteria

For further information, specific criteria and examples of services that would qualify for funding in this category, please see the attached documents:
