Government | Legislative Relations Position at CCF

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS & QUOTATIONS (RFQQ)
PROPOSALS DUE AUGUST, 14, 2009

The Council for Children & Families / Children’s Trust Fund of Washington (CCF) is seeking a qualified consultant to provide government/legislative relations services. The contract period for this project is tentatively August 24 2009 (see schedule) through 10 working days beyond the end of the 2010 legislative session.  The total amount available for this period is up to $22,500.

CCF plays an active role in ensuring that policy makers, state and other public agencies, community-based organizations, collaborations and coalitions have access to the information needed to develop or consider policies that strengthen families, promote optimal child development, and advance the prevention of child abuse and neglect. CCF communications strategies support this role by striving through a variety of means to maintain a highly visible public presence and support a network for sharing effective messages, tools and other information resources. As part of our program and network development responsibilities, we work collaboratively with prevention and early learning partners to promote active engagement in policy issues by staff, participants and stakeholders of community-based programs, with a special interest in promoting parent voices. CCF participates in a number of policy advocacy coalitions in a manner consistent with the constraints prescribed in state law and administrative policies.

As an office of the Governor, CCF aligns its policy positions with those advanced by the Governor.

Funding for this contract is provided from the private resources held in the Children’s Trust Fund of Washington, a depository in the State Treasury, for use at the discretion of the CCF governing board.
